soulfood

Sometimes things have to be done just for the hell of it. No purpose other than to be
enjoyed, to be the catalyst of ponder or just because it has to be done. This page is
filled with food for my soul
and I hope you find some nourishment for yours.

Bowls

I have a thing for Bowls and have always had them in my collections.
It could have something to do with a special place to hold our bounty.
These works follow my interest in iconic forms. The process is a
combinaion of using a mold and hand-forming...very hands on.
The three styles are (from left to right), butterfly, hand and bird.

11-1/2" wide x 3" high; the material is Kottcrete

$190

Bluebird of Happiness

These birds are hand sand-casted. They were done during a workshop of sand-casting glass in the Spring of 2005. It was a very interesting experience.

Each bird measures 5" high x 7" wide x 2" deep

$180 per bird

Birds of Peace

These are representational birds, made from Kottcrete in a combination process of casting and hand-forming.

Small
4-1/4" long x 1-5/8" wide x 1-5/8" high           $20

Medium
6-3/4" long x 2-1/2" wide x 2-1/2" high           $33

Large
8-1/2" long x 3-1/8" wide x 3-1/8" high           $41

Think Lights / Sphere Candleholders

These works have a very magical glow. When the flame dances, the thoughts vibrate...thus visually giving them
a "pulse".

These phases used are thoughts that came to me
while creating.

Some are pensive and some have a Dada quality. The phrases are like prayers / mantras; phrases meant to expand and not to contract. The bowls are frosted inside and out
and the painted words are baked on. Put a tea light inside
and enjoy!

They are available in two sizes:

Small      $46
3" high x 4" wide
Large      $75
4-3/4" high x 5-1/2" wide

Phrases from left to right:

"Art brings peace to this crazy world"
"Art is the treasure chest of humanity"
"Art give value to the human spirit"
"Art is the difference between simple
and pure"
(Available in large only)

"Is this Art or is this just a bowl?"

"A day without Art is a day without Peace, Love and Joy"

"This flame lights my path, warms my heart and illuminates my soul"

[home]

These works were the catalyst for the whole RE project which began several years ago. The glass is etched with a matte versus polished surface with 3 different patterns. Pattern 1 is a combination of stripe, zigzag and dot; another is all stripe and the other all dot. The skulls can be either wall mounted or displayed on a pedestal. The two different styles of aluminum horns are Deer or Steer. The Deer has the branch and the steer has a very subtle stripe that is distressed into the aluminum rod. The colors are as shown. The glass is very, very, very carefully drilled for the addition of the horns.

12" long x 15" wide and with base measures 21" tall

skull is $190; base is $60

Paintings

I like to paint, very in the now or dancing with my brain.
These are paintings of a bird that flew into my life some
twenty years ago and never left. The bird has taken many
forms in expressing its' presence over the years.
Here, a flock of the birds...like a repeating mantra,
weave a presence of movement in an overlapping
image rooted in primal spirituality.

Black acrylic paint on white foamcore. The real works are
very contrasting, more than shown by the photos.

20" x 30", horizontal or vertical

$500
